Stylish Kids: Toddler T's

Western Australia-based Annabel Amman wanted something a little out-of-the-ordinary for her son Archie, so commissioned his godmother (who just happens to be Claire Tout, head designer of Lisa Ho) to illustrate some tshirts, and voila - a label was born. Toddler Ts is a collection of limited edition cotton tshirts for 1 to 3 year olds, illustrated by Claire.

These unisex t's are illustrated in classic black and white with pops of colour. There's nothing cutesy about this line (and not a skerrick of pink to be seen). Toddler Ts are cool, classy and designed here in Australia. These tshirts would make great gifts, especially packaged in their own drawstring bag.

You can find Toddler Ts in the online store.

10 Stylish Children's Room Ideas

While we were packing up our old house, I took a few photos to remember the girls' bedrooms, and just happened to be writing an article about stylish kids' room ideas for the eBay's Mum's Business website that they worked perfectly for. Here's a little peek:

My big girl's bed with gorgeous quilt from Nanna, pillows and Funky Monkey sock monkey.

Tissue paper pom flowers that I made and hung from the ceiling.

Tub Trug storage for all the soft toys.

A small vignette in my little one's bedroom - vintage Royal Doulton dancing princess and prince wind-up piece (that I bought when I was a girl), framed birth print, leather elephant money box from Nanna and Pops, and leather moccasins from my sister in Canada.

Head over to the eBay Mum's Business website for the whole article with lots of idesa for kids rooms - 10 Stylish Children's Room Ideas.

Polli's hexagonal wooden necklaces

Here's something a little special just for us today. I've been pinning geometric shapes to my style pinboard like crazy recently, and these amazing hexagonal wooden necklaces from Polli fit the bill (and are Australian-designed to boot!)

These necklaces are made from sustainable plantation hoop pine ply. The hexagonal beads are designed to flip and slide to suit your taste. I'm more than a little in love.

There are lots of other great styles and colourways on the Polli website. You can find Polli pendants in the online store.

The best babycino ever!

OMG I finally have an internet connection again. And we moved house! I guess there is a lot of work involved in moving an internet connection for it to take 10 days (not). Kind of miffed, but in the meantime, I have been packing, and then unpacking thousands of boxes, playing house, exploring the new hood and getting out with the little ones. We braved some epic traffic to have a lovely playdate at Pyrmont Point Park and discover the world's best babycino (unless you can point me elsewhere):

I'm used to the cocoa, and one, maybe two marshmallows. But five marshmallows AND a generous sprinkling of pretty hundreds and thousands on top! My girls' eyes just about popped out of their heads.

So now I have embraced the hundreds and thousands trend. They just make things so pretty and add a bit of magic to boring old Milo or a special ice cream treat (for sore throats, of course). There's a reason why they turn a boring old slice of bread into 'Fairy Bread'. Yes, in moderation of course.

Who else is doing hundreds and thousands on babycinos? I think we need a list of the cool cafes right here...

One-year-old Rowan is so lucky to have an amazing room at his Nan Roberta's house (of Rowantree Design). Roberta has injected her love of traveling into the room with the amazing world map wall mural and lots of colourful travel-related goodies. I'm particularly taken with the Goebel figurines and the map of Australia.

Room: Bedroom at Nan's house for grandson Rowan.

Fillyboo maternity wear for hip Mums

Do you remember the gorgeous clothes by Bali-based Aussie designer Pippa (of Pippa Little fame)/ I was thrilled to discover that Pippa also designs a line of ever-so-hip maternity clothes under the Fillyboo label.

I love the bohemian chic designs, pastel, black and navy blue colour choices and flowing silhouettes. Nothing too tight or too fitting here. I think these might be cooler than my normal clothes!

You can find Fillyboo in the online store .

Eulalie's 1st Balloon and Bunting Birthday Party

You all loved little Eulalie's nursery tour so much, that I thought it would be nice to share with you her first birthday. Eulalie's Mum is Claire from one clare day, whose style and taste I greatly admire. Claire shows that you only need a few special items (in this case the bunting and 3 huge helium balloons) to create a festive atmosphere. This lovely, casual, backyard party was beautifully captured by the amazing Tim Coulson. Enjoy!

Baby Bondville's Doll Nook

We are moving house next week and as I've been starting to pack, I thought I would take a few photos of some of my favourite corners of our house.

It's an amazing space - an old Federation house with high ceilings and detailed plasterwork, Federation regulation colours (cream, green, burgundy), leadlight windows and a gorgeous garden. We are going to miss it a lot, but are looking forward to our new tree house, right on the edge of a national park.

This particular corner is my little one's doll nook, above a built-in desk. I covered the cork board with wallpaper (Bholu's Majorie Duck by Porter's Paints), and leaned against it a framed Suzy Ultman print. The ragdoll is Harriette from eeni meeni miini moh and the sweet Japanese doll was made using a new sewing kit by the red thread (to be released online in March 2012). I'll have to see where I can fit the lovely wallpaper in our new place.

Stylish Kids: Chalk n Cheese

My friend Mellissa is truly an arbiter of good taste, and when she mentions a label, I listen. She promises me that I told her about Melbourne kids' clothing label Chalk n Cheese, but I think I found it through her. In any case, welcome to a world of gorgeous clothes for children 0-8 years.

Chalk n Cheese directory Tracey Eastwood returned from the UK with ideas for a label with a European-inspired style - unfussy, classic colours, quality fabrics; smart clothes for smart occasions and play in equal measure. The pinstripe Floella dress (at top) is something pretty special with it's lovely tailoring, and grown-up fabric in a shape that most girls will adore.

You can find Chalk n Cheese in the online store, or through stockists across Australia, the UK and online. Head over now for some great savings in the online store!

Drumroll please.... today the new eeni meeni miini moh® and e3-M® Autumn Winter collection for kids 0-14 years hits the shelves. It's this eponymous Australian lifestyle brand's 10th anniversary, and the new collection kicks off the cooler months in style with camping-inspired pieces, and something a little more urban from e3-M.

First up the great watermelon, charcoal and peonie pink palette for the 2-5 year olds from eeni meeni miini moh®. Here are a few of my favourites - perfect for play and for something a little more special:

For the 2-14 year olds, these slick looks from e3-M® are a little bit of Matrix and a lot of cool kid:
