Udder toys are made in Queensland, Australia, using a mixture of recycled, new, vintage and Japanese fabrics. Each of these adorable creatures features an applique heart which reminds me that they are painstakingly made with love. Fliss trained as a ceramic artist and started making toys two years ago when she wanted an alternative to all the synthetic kids' toys on the market.
It's so hard to choose between them, but I think little Ted would love a fox, and my wee Sophie might love a luna.
You can find Udder toys on Etsy (more stock coming soon), Twig (in the US) and various stockists. Learn more about Fliss' work on the Udder blog and on Flickr. And if you are in Brisbane next month, you'll find Udder at the GoMA gallery store Christmas Design Market on 6th December 2008, 9am-5pm at the gallery store forecourt.
