It's Year 2 of the online craft-for-a-cause phenomenon Softies For Mirabel. Last year Melbourne-based Pip from the Meet Me At Mike's store and blog orchestrated a huge global craft-a-thon to create adorable soft toys to auction for charity.
The recipient charity is The Mirabel Foundation - an organisation that supports the children of families affected by substance abuse.
The online craft community has gotten behind Softies For Mirabel in a big way and handmade stuffed animals and dolls are being created all over the world for the auction on eBay (428 at last count). All funds raised from the auction are donated to the Mirabel Foundation.
You can find photos of the softies on the Flickr Group Softies for Mirabel, and you can bid on your favourite softie now on eBay. And if you are a crafty type, there is still plenty of time to make your own softie for the cause (information here).
PS: And while you are visiting The Mirabel Foundation, check out the great t-shirts in the Mirabel Collection illustrated by the talented author and artist Emma Magenta.
