Why Are Baby Leg Warmers So Cute?

Adults look ridiculously bad in them, but babies look ridiculously cute in those old 80's staples - leg warmers!

Now they are a fashion statement and also practical in the cooler months - they help keep socks on, keep legs covered when one-piece suits ride up, allow easier nappy access than tights, they look cool on both boys and girls, and are great for nappy free time in cooler weather. I've even seen them used as arm warmers. Our little Sophie has a pair of Punk Diamond Huggalugs in Jazz colour (pink and white) that have been invaluable preventing rug-burn while she learns how to crawl.

Until recently, there were only 3 major quality brands of leg warmers - the Aussie company Huggalugs, the US company Babylegs, and the US brand Skidpants. But the trend is catching on and there are now many more coming onto the market, including gorgeous designs from Aussie children's brand Oobi.
